Silly AnimalTravel – Animal Player Passengers for RedM 🐾

📌 Description

Silly AnimalTravel lets players in animal ped form ride as passengers on configured vehicles. A simple command finds a nearby carriage, balloon or canoe, reserves an animal slot and attaches the animal player to the configured position.

Enjoy carriage and boat trips with your roleplay owner or fellow players, and share moments on the road or water as your animal character.

Use the same command to exit once the vehicle is slow enough. Nearby viewers receive synchronized animal-passenger visuals, including the animal's current appearance.

Passenger gameplay is framework independent, with VORP / RSGCore notification adapters and DE / EN messages included.

✨ Features

  • 🐕 Animal model allowlist — supplied dog models and a cat, editable in config.
  • 🚋 8 default vehicle models — six carriage / wagon models, a balloon and a canoe.
  • 👥 Multiple animal slots — one or two configured attachment positions per default vehicle.
  • 🎟️ Server-managed reservations — occupied slots cannot be reserved by another passenger.
  • 📡 Nearby visibility — synchronized spectator visuals within 100 m by default.
  • 🚪 Speed-based exit limit — normal exit requires 2 m/s or below by default.
  • 🎈 Balloon landing check — exit requires low ground clearance as well as low speed.
  • 📐 Editable positioning — per-vehicle slots and exit offsets, plus per-animal height corrections.
  • 🧹 Cleanup — disconnect handling, slot release and restoration of spectator visuals on exit.
  • 🌐 Multi-Framework notifications — VORP and RSGCore adapters included; passenger gameplay stays standalone, with no inventory or database required.
  • 🌍 Multi-Language (DE / EN) — choose German or English and edit the supplied translations.

🎮 How It Works

  1. Player uses an allowed animal ped through their existing ped system.
  2. Stand within 6 m of a configured, networked vehicle.
  3. Enter /tiereinsteigen to reserve the first free animal slot.
  4. The animal travels attached to the configured passenger position.
  5. Slow the vehicle; land the balloon close to the ground when applicable.
  6. Enter /tiereinsteigen again to leave at the configured exit position.

This resource does not spawn animals, transform players or create vehicles.

🔧 Installation

  1. Place the inner Silly_AnimalTravel folder containing fxmanifest.lua in your resources directory.

  2. If using framework notifications, start VORP Core or RSGCore with ox_lib before the resource, then add:

    ensure Silly_AnimalTravel

  3. Configure animal models, vehicle models, passenger offsets and exit positions in config.lua; select Config.Framework and Config.Language for your notifications.

  4. Provide animal player peds and networked vehicles through your existing server resources.

  5. Check attachment positions with your chosen models and RedM build.

📦 Dependencies

| Dependency | Required | |---|---| | RedM | ✅ | | Server-visible player peds and networked vehicles | ✅ for boarding checks and synchronization | | A way to play as an allowed animal ped | ✅ | | VORP Core or RSGCore | Optional, for framework notifications | | ox_lib | For RSGCore notifications | | Inventory / database | ❌ |

Passenger reservations and attachments work independently of an inventory or framework. Notifications use the selected VORP / RSGCore adapter.

Boarding checks and passenger synchronization rely on server-visible player/entity state (OneSync/state awareness).

🌐 Framework & Language Support

The passenger system runs independently of VORP and RSGCore. For on-screen messages, its bridge uses VORP tips or RSGCore with ox_lib. Select 'auto', 'vorp' or 'rsgcore' in Config.Framework; auto mode prefers VORP when both cores are running.

German and English message packs are included in configlang.lua. Choose Config.Language = 'DE' or 'EN'; German is the default. Individual messages can be customized with Config.Text.

⚙️ Configuration

  • Config.Framework / Config.Language — notification adapter and DE / EN texts.
  • Config.Command — default /tiereinsteigen.
  • Config.AllowedAnimals — eligible animal models.
  • Config.Vehicles — vehicle models, kinds, animal attachment slots and exit offsets.
  • Config.AnimalSeatZOffsets — per-animal height corrections.
  • Config.MaxVehicleDistance — boarding search distance, default 6 m.
  • Config.ExitMaxSpeed / Config.BalloonMaxExitHeight — exit speed and balloon ground-clearance limits.
  • Config.ReboardDelayMs — delay before boarding again, default 1500 ms.
  • Config.ModelSyncWaitMs — server wait for an animal model change to synchronize, default 2000 ms.
  • Config.SyncRadius, Config.SyncCheckInterval, Config.VisualRefreshMs — spectator synchronization.
  • Config.RemoteVisualZOffset / Config.RemoteVisualHeadingOffset — spectator-clone corrections.
  • Config.ExitSyncSeconds / Config.Text — exit correction period and notification messages.
