Silly FishSlap – Fish Melee Item for RedM (VORP / RSGCore) 🐟

📌 Description

Ever wanted to slap someone with a fish? Silly FishSlap turns a dead fish into an entertaining melee item for RedM. Equip it from the inventory, face a nearby player or NPC, and deliver a fish slap with configurable scripted damage, knockdown and break chances.

Built with a VORP / RSGCore framework bridge, automatic detection and DE / EN notification texts. Configure the fish, its attachment and the hit effects to suit your server's sense of humour.

✨ Features

  • 🐟 Usable inventory item — equip and unequip the fish by using toterfisch.
  • 👊 Attack control — use left mouse button to target a living ped in front of you.
  • 🤸 Knockdown chance — default 35%, with configurable ragdoll duration.
  • 💥 Break chance — default 20% per accepted hit; consumes one fish and unequips it.
  • 👥 Nearby fish visibility — equipped fish props are shown to players within a configurable radius, 100 m by default.
  • 🧰 Configurable hand attachment — choose the fish prop, bone, offsets and rotations.
  • ⏱️ Attack cooldown — default 1.2 seconds between attacks.
  • 🧹 Cleanup — unequip, disconnect and resource-stop handling for fish props and synchronized state.
  • 🌐 Multi-Framework — VORP Core or RSGCore with the matching inventory.
  • 🌍 Multi-Language (DE / EN) — select the language in config.lua and customize the supplied text packs.
  • 🗄️ Optional item setup — oxmysql can create the fish entry in a supported inventory database table.

🎮 How It Works

  1. Player obtains the toterfisch inventory item.
  2. Using it equips a fish in the player's hand.
  3. Face a living target within 2.2 m and press left mouse button.
  4. The scripted hit applies damage and rolls the knockdown chance.
  5. A break roll can remove one fish item and unequip the fish.
  6. Use the item again to put it away without consuming it.

🔧 Installation

  1. Place the inner Silly_FishSlap folder containing fxmanifest.lua in your resources directory.

  2. Set Config.Framework to 'auto', 'vorp' or 'rsgcore', and choose Config.Language = 'DE' or 'EN'.

  3. Set up the toterfisch item: VORP servers can use the optional oxmysql setup or import item.sql if the schema matches; RSGCore servers must add the item to their shared item definitions and inventory setup.

  4. Add the supplied toterfisch.png to your inventory's item-image directory if needed.

  5. Start the resource after your selected framework and matching inventory; make ox_lib available for RSGCore notifications:

    ensure Silly_FishSlap

  6. Configure the item, attachment and attack settings in config.lua; customize messages in configlang.lua or through Config.Text overrides.

The optional database setup runs when oxmysql is available and a supported item table is found. Custom inventory schemas and RSGCore shared item definitions may require manual setup.

📦 Dependencies

| Dependency | Required | |---|---| | RedM | ✅ | | Server-visible player peds and positions | ✅ for range checks and fish synchronization | | VORP Core or RSGCore | ✅ one of them | | VORP Inventory or RSG Inventory | ✅ matching the selected framework | | ox_lib | ✅ for RSGCore notifications | | oxmysql | Optional, for automatic database item setup | | Configured fish item in the selected inventory | ✅ |

Server checks rely on server-visible player/entity state (OneSync/state awareness).

🌐 Framework & Language Support

Choose VORP or RSGCore, or leave Config.Framework = 'auto' for automatic detection. If both cores are running, auto mode selects VORP; use an explicit setting to choose RSGCore.

| Framework | Core | Inventory | Notifications | |---|---|---|---| | VORP | vorp_core | vorp_inventory | VORP tips | | RSGCore | rsg-core | rsg-inventory | ox_lib |

German and English notification packs are included. Set Config.Language to 'DE' or 'EN'; German is the default. configlang.lua contains the translations, and Config.Text can override individual messages.
