Silly Animal Harvest – Carving & Configurable Rewards for RedM (VORP / RSGCore) 🔪🦌

📌 Description

Silly Animal Harvest lets players use special knives to fillet dead animals for extra, configurable inventory rewards. Equip a visible knife, approach a suitable carcass, and complete the carving animation to receive meat, bones, fat, or other items defined for that animal model. The carcass disappears for all players after filleting.

Built with a VORP / RSGCore bridge and German / English language packs, with multiple knife definitions, per-corpse action reservations, and server-side target and capacity checks. The supplied animal table contains 249 model definitions, including wildlife, birds, fish, and horses.

✨ Features

  • 🔪 Two default usable knives — MetzgerMesser and Filetiermesser.
  • 🖐️ Visible knife props with individual hand position and rotation settings.
  • 🔁 Equip, switch, and unequip through inventory use.
  • ♻️ Reusable knives — knife items are not consumed.
  • 🦌 249 supplied animal model definitions with configurable names and rewards.
  • 🎒 Multiple reward items per animal with exact configurable quantities.
  • 🎬 8-second carving animation with [Backspace] cancellation.
  • 📏 [Enter] interaction within 2.5 m of an eligible dead animal.
  • 🔒 One active carving session per corpse.
  • 🛡️ Server checks for knife ownership, target model, corpse state, distance, routing bucket, and action duration.
  • ⚖️ Capacity checks before deletion — item capacity checks plus combined reward weight when inventory capacity data is available.
  • 🧹 Server corpse removal before reward payout.
  • 🌐 Multi-Framework — VORP or RSGCore, automatically detected or selected in config.
  • 🌍 Multilingual — DE / EN carving prompts and notifications.
  • 🗄️ Optional automatic item setup — configured knives and reward items are added through oxmysql on supported existing VORP item tables.

🎮 How It Works

  1. Use a configured knife item from inventory.
  2. Approach a dead animal from the configured model list.
  3. Press [Enter] to request carving.
  4. Complete the animation or cancel with [Backspace] before completion.
  5. The server checks completion, deletes the corpse, and issues the animal's configured rewards.

All knives share the animal reward table. For example, the default deer yields Knochen, Tierfett, and Rotwildfleisch; configured large fish can yield Fischkopf.

🔧 Installation

  1. Place the folder containing fxmanifest.lua in your resources as Silly_AnimalHarvest.

  2. Start it after your framework and inventory. For VORP:

    ensure vorp_core
    ensure vorp_inventory
    ensure Silly_AnimalHarvest

    For RSGCore:

    ensure rsg-core
    ensure rsg-inventory
    ensure Silly_AnimalHarvest

  3. VORP: optionally start oxmysql before the resource. db_setup.lua adds missing knife items and all configured rewards to a compatible existing items, vorp_items, or vorp_inventory_items table. Without it, create those entries manually. Restart the inventory after new entries are created.

  4. RSGCore: define the knife and reward items in rsg-core/shared/items.lua using the lowercase names required by RSG Inventory. The VORP database installer does not create RSG item definitions.

  5. Enable OneSync and select your framework and language in config.lua. Adjust knife attachments there and animal rewards in animals.lua.

The default configured knives are MetzgerMesser and Filetiermesser. Keep VORP item names aligned with the config; all configured reward items must also exist in the selected inventory.

🌐 Multi-Framework & Multi-Language

  • VORP: vorp_core + vorp_inventory.
  • RSGCore: rsg-core + rsg-inventory, with ox_lib notifications.
  • Framework selection: Config.Framework = 'auto', 'vorp', or 'rsgcore'. Automatic detection prefers VORP when both cores are running.
  • Language selection: Config.Language = 'DE' or 'EN'; German is the default.
  • Custom wording: German and English prompts/messages are supplied in configlang.lua; override individual texts through Config.Texts. Animal display names remain editable separately in animals.lua.

The RSGCore integration is included and is marked untested in game. Usable knives and reward payout require a supported framework and inventory.

📦 Dependencies

| Dependency | Required | |---|---| | RedM + OneSync | ✅ | | VORP Core or RSGCore | ✅ — one supported framework | | vorp_inventory on VORP / rsg-inventory on RSGCore | ✅ | | ox_lib on RSGCore | Required for notifications | | Configured knife and reward item definitions | ✅ — automatic VORP setup where available, otherwise manual | | oxmysql | Optional — automatic VORP item setup |

⚙️ Configuration Highlights

  • Config.Knives — add knife items with separate props, bones, offsets, and rotations.
  • Config.Framework / Config.Language — framework and DE / EN language selection.
  • Config.CarvableAnimals in animals.lua — models, display names, reward items, and amounts.
  • Config.UseRadius / ServerRadius — 2.5 m interaction / 3.5 m server tolerance.
  • Config.CarveDurationMs — 8-second carving duration.
  • Config.Animation — configurable carving dictionary and clip.
  • Config.UseKey / CancelKey — Enter and Backspace.
  • Config.ItemLabels and Config.Texts — item labels and custom wording.

The corpse is removed before rewards are issued. If an inventory call cannot confirm a reward, the affected item is logged for manual review; this version does not restore the corpse or automatically retry payouts. Knife and active carving state reset on disconnect or resource restart.
