Silly Cigar – Exploding Cigar Item (RedM / VORP / RSGCore) 🚬💥

📌 Description

Silly Cigar gives your RedM players a cigar prank to share: pass someone a prepared cigar through your usual inventory system and watch their smoking break end with a surprise explosion. Lighting it with matches starts a short, unpredictable fuse, then the smoker ragdolls while nearby players see the cigar and effect.

Built with a multi-framework bridge for VORP or RSGCore, automatic framework detection and German / English localization. Server-side inventory checks and a per-player cooldown manage item use; fuse timing, explosion settings and prop placement are configurable.

✨ Features

  • 🚬 Usable fakecigar item with a hand-attached cigar prop.
  • 🔥 Matches requirement — consumes one cigar and one matches item per successful use.
  • 🎭 Smoking scenario while the fuse runs.
  • ⏲️ Random 3–5-second delay before the explosion.
  • 👀 Nearby visual effects for players within 90 m.
  • 💥 Editable explosion type and scale — type 29, scale 0.1 by default.
  • 🤸 2.5-second owner ragdoll after the explosion.
  • 🛡️ Server inventory validation — attempts to return the cigar if matches removal fails.
  • ⏱️ 8-second cooldown per player.
  • 🧹 Cigar prop cleanup after use and on resource stop.
  • 🌐 Multi-Framework — VORP or RSGCore, auto-detected or selected in configuration.
  • 🌍 Multi-Language — DE / EN included, with editable translations and custom text overrides.
  • 🗄️ Optional automatic SQL item setup through db_setup.lua and oxmysql.
  • 📦 Open configuration and locales — config.lua and configlang.lua are listed in escrow_ignore.

🌐 Multi-Framework & 🌍 Multi-Language

Use VORP (vorp_core + vorp_inventory) or RSGCore (rsg-core + rsg-inventory). Config.Framework = 'auto' detects the active framework; 'vorp' and 'rsgcore' let you select it explicitly. RSGCore messages use ox_lib notifications.

Switch between German and English with Config.Language = 'DE' / 'EN'. Customize configlang.lua or override individual messages through Config.Texts; missing translations fall back to English. Inventory item labels can be adjusted separately through Config.ItemLabels.

🎮 How It Works

  1. Carry a prepared cigar and matches.
  2. Use the cigar in your VORP or RSG inventory.
  3. An alive/on-foot check runs before the server consumes one cigar and one match, subject to the inventory checks and cooldown.
  4. A smoking scenario starts and nearby players see the cigar in your hand.
  5. After the random fuse, the explosion plays at your current position and your character ragdolls.

🔧 Installation

  1. Place the Silly_Cigar resource folder containing fxmanifest.lua in your server resources.

  2. Add the configured items to your inventory definitions (fakecigar and matches by default). On RSGCore, register them in the framework's shared item definitions.

  3. Start the resource after your framework and inventory. For VORP:

    ensure vorp_core
    ensure vorp_inventory
    ensure Silly_Cigar

    Or, for RSGCore:

    ensure ox_lib
    ensure rsg-core
    ensure rsg-inventory
    ensure Silly_Cigar

  4. Enable OneSync, then select the framework and language and adjust items, timings, prop placement and explosion settings in config.lua.

If oxmysql is running, db_setup.lua can add missing cigar and matches entries to a supported SQL item table (items, vorp_items or vorp_inventory_items). Start oxmysql before this resource when using that setup. RSGCore shared item definitions still need to be added separately; the SQL installer does not replace them.

📦 Dependencies

| Dependency | Required | |---|---| | RedM + OneSync | ✅ — server-side positions select nearby visual recipients | | VORP Core or RSGCore | ✅ — one framework | | Matching inventory | ✅ — vorp_inventory or rsg-inventory | | ox_lib | For RSGCore notifications | | Configured cigar and matches items | ✅ | | oxmysql | Optional — automatic SQL item setup |

⚙️ Highlights from config.lua

  • Config.Framework, Config.Language — framework selection and DE / EN messages.
  • Config.CigarItem, Config.MatchesItem — item names.
  • Config.MinDelay, Config.MaxDelay, Config.Cooldown — fuse and cooldown in milliseconds.
  • Config.VisibilityRadius — nearby visual recipients in metres.
  • Config.ExplosionType, Config.ExplosionScale, Config.RagdollMs — explosion and owner reaction.
  • Config.CigarProp, Config.PropBone, Config.PropOffset, Config.PropRotation — cigar attachment.
  • Config.Texts — custom inventory and lighting message overrides.
  • Config.ItemLabels — labels for newly created SQL item entries.

The visual radius does not define a damage radius. The resource uses a game explosion effect and does not enforce a non-lethal outcome.
